Goals
- Identify and describe appropriate dress for laboratory investigations.
- Identify safe and unsafe laboratory conditions and behaviors.
- Follow best practices in the handling of chemicals and equipment in order to minimize exposure to chemicals.
Activities
- Bell Ringer
- Obtain:
- Chem 1H Parent Quick Reference. Take this home to your parents.guardians.
- "I Can" Checklist for Lab Safety and Math Skills.
- One sheet of card stock and a marker.
- Fold the card stock "hot dog" style to make a tent.
- In the middle on one side, write your first name.
- In the upper right hand corner, write your grade level (10, 11, or 12).
- In the upper left hand corner, write nothing.
- In the bottom left hand corner, write a word that describes you.
- In the bottom right hand corner, write a word that describes chemistry.
- Introduce yourself to your table mates. Make sure you know what everyone likes to be called. Share your summer highlights.
