01/28/16 - 5/6 C1H - Sig Digs in Calculating and Dimensional Analysis

Learning Goals 

1. Round calculated measurements to the correct number of sig digs when you:
1. Multiply and divide
2. Add and subtract.  
3. Use logarithms.  
2. Convert one unit to another (e.g., 0.532 cg = ______ mg), showing your work using dimensional analysis.
3. Convert squared or cubed units (e.g., knowing how to take 2.54 cm = 1 inch, and get 38.5 in2 = _____ cm2).
4. Convert complex units in ONE unit analysis set up (e.g., 0.454 g/cm3 to kg/dL)

2. Pick up a copy of the conversions/ions sheet.  Take great care of it.  I may only one copy per student at the beginning of the semester, but allow you to use it throughout the semester.
