12/03/2015 - 1/2 and 7/8 C2H - Eq1 The Equilibrium Condition

Today's Featured Video

Today's Agenda

Learning Goals
  1. Describe TWO possible reasons why the concentrations of reactants and products of a given reaction appear unchanged when mixed.
  2. Determine when equilibrium has been reached using:
    1. data from an experiment
    2. graph of reaction progress
  3. State that the law of mass action is based on observations of many chemical reactions.
  4. For any proecss, jA  +  kB  →  lC  +  mD  write a correct equilibrium expression, for a
    1. homogeneous process
    2. heterogeneous process
  5. Write the equilibrium expression and calculate K values for;
    1. a given reaction:
    2. a given reaction written in reverse.
    3. a given reaction multiplied by a factor of n.
  6. Explain why there are an infinite number of equilibrium positions, but only one value of K for a given reaction at a given temperature.
